Seriously, how do they think they smell nice??<br /><br />I can't stand when someone asks me if a patient is in the clinic or upstairs getting blood work and I tell them they're not here at al, that we don't have a patient here by that name. They argue with me and insist that they were just here until I tell them that they're in a completely different clinic and walk away with their tail between their legs. Ok, do you honestly think I'm just going to tell you someone's NOT here just for fun?? Just for kicks?? I might be a biotch at times...but I would certainly NEVER give you incorrect information about your loved one.<br /><br />Please don't argue with me about whether or not you need blood work. I could care less. I'm just doing my job here. I don't have an MD or RN behind my name. I don't get paid enough. Tell me if you've had blood work within the past 7 days and we'll be cool. Thanks.<br /><br />Just because I was in the Cancer Clinic for a year and a half (which felt like an eternity) does not mean you should continually come up to me and ask me to do things the "permanent" employees do. I'm a float. Act like I know nothing.<br />You're white. Your name is white. Your mother is white and wears awful perfume. Refrain from speaking like you just rolled out of 'da hood and wearing clothes that you and I could both fit in, together. You just look and sound like an idiot. Just sayin.<br /><br />Going along with the last post...You're in America. If you can't speak the language, GET OUT. Go back to Abajikistan, Mexico or wherever you came from. And yes, Abajikistan IS a country. Don't question me.<br /><br />Why would you just walk in to a clinic and sit down in the waiting area? When you go to your family doctor, do you just sit down in the waiting room and hope that they know you're there?? Generally speaking, all physician's offices have a reception area...with secretaries...office staff...whatever sitting behind desks. Last time I checked it's helpful to tell those people who you are before sitting down if you want to be seen by a physician, otherwise you're gonna be sitting there for a while. And believe me, this has happened on MULTIPLE occasions.<br /><br />Don't talk to me while I'm in the middle of checking in a patient. I don't care who you are. It's rude. Let me finish and then I'll be glad to help you with whatever crappy favor you need. Thanks.<br /><br />I'm convinced all people are pretty dumb. They don't read, they don't listen, and they certainly can't follow directions. Pretty sure these were basic functions we were taught back in elementary school. I changed my name on September 20th, 2009. I filled out the appropriate paperwork to change my name at work in...October or so. I figured what's the rush?? :) It has taken until 2 days ago, emails back and forth to HR, and filling out a new set of paperwork for me to receive notification that in order to "comply" with our company's policy and the Department of Health, I needed to turn in my old photo id badge for a new one with the appropriate changes on it. I'm sorry, but you're totally making me feel threatened by this when I put my name change information in MONTHS AGO and NOW I need to comply to policy. Ok fine. I primp and preen to make sure my new id badge is super special. It does have my new name it, after all! I take time out of my lunch break today and walk the 1/2 mile across the hospital, down to the basement to the inner depths of hell to the ID Bage/Parking office. I walk in and wait patiently. This is the conversation and my experience:<br /><br />Me: Hi! I got an email stating I needed to come down for a new badge. (Hands her old badge)<br />Her: ...silence.......more silence....*nasty voice* Did you have a NAME CHANGE or SOMETHING??? *glares at me*<br />Me: YeS. *extra pronounciation on the S*<br />Her: Well WHAT is your new name??? *nasty voice*<br />Me: Hoerner. H-O-E-R...<br />Her: *nasty tone* H..O...What??<br />Me: *Nastier tone while staring her in the eye* <strong>E-R-N-E-R</strong> <br />Her: ....silence....<br />Her: ....more silence...<br />Her: ....even MORE silence...<br />Seriously, I'm about to explode from the tension in this office.<br />Badge machine is making funny noises...<br />Her: ....she's still silent...<br />About 2 minutes later out pops my id, she snatches it from the machine. Looks at the back. Sweetly smiles at me and hands it over.<br />Her: There you are!! :)<br />Me: Thank you VERY much!!! :) *underlying tone seriously b*tch I wanna punch you*<br /><br />First of all, hang on a sec, where's my new pic???! I didn't even dare go there bc if she was rude to me any more I was seriously going to climb over the desk and harm her in some way. I primped for nothing. And I'm stuck with my picture from last year with part of my hair sticking up. AWESOME.<br />Second, I don't feel it's EVERY necessary to be so hostile in dealing with other humans. Luckily we don't work directly together, but she's still THERE. Maybe she has a medical condition that she can't control the volume of her voice? Obviously what she has to say is WAY more important than everyone else and she knows ABSOLUTELY everything about EVERYTHING. It makes me crazy. I'm sitting at my desk currently. Are they ok?? I wonder if they're sleeping...? Silence. You pull up your drawers, button and zip. Unlock yourself from your dungeon of panic. Silence. Wash hands. A, B, C, D, E, F, G, H, I, J, K, L, M, N, O, P, Q, R, S, T, U, V, W, X, Y and Z. Silence. What the crap are you doing in there???? Silence. Dry off your hands as quickly as possible because now you know that there's probably a disaster about to strike in that stall. Exit bathroom stage left..or right however you're standing. Silence. But it's the most exciting and happiest time of my life right now!!! Ok ok, how did it happen?? A friend of mine is married to a fabulous man, who is also a professional photographer on the side. He bought some new lighting equipment and wanted to try it out. So he asked for some guinea pigs. Matt and I were said guinea pigs. We went out to Founder's Hall @ Milton Hershey School on Sunday, March 22nd. It was chillly/slightly overcast, but the sun kept peeking in and out. We took tons of photos, I've only received a few so far by email. But anyway, all of a sudden Matt and I were being photographed standing on the ledge of one of the stone bridges. Then, Bob yells "HIT IT MATT!!!" I had no idea what was going on and looked completely clueless. Matt gets down on his knee and proposes. It was seriously the most romantic moment in my life. I ALMOST cried, but kept my composure! lol Bob ended up shooting us THE MOMENT Matt asked me. The picture is adorable. :) So yes, I'm the future Mrs. Matthew Hoerner. AND, I'm going to be a stepmom! Hannah, Matt's daughter, is turning 2 today. She's seriously one of the sweetest little girls I've ever met. A definite keeper. Ok, so I don't have much more to say so I'll just move on to including the pictures! Addicted to the smell, taste and FEEL of a garage. I'm pretty sure she's going to turn in to a motor head. That's what my favorite sister in law tells me anyway. She harasses me NON-STOP about updating my page. This post will NOT include pics, but it will include all the latest comings of ME! :)<br />Let's see...where to begin. We'll start in October. October 1st, 2008 I began a new position at Hershey Medical Center as an MOA. (Medical Office Associate) It's pretty much the BEST job I've ever had. What is an MOA, you're asking?? It's a cult. Ok, I'm kidding. We (the MOA's) basically cover the front desk of all the outpatient clinics @ HMC. Check patients in, check patients out, that sort of thing. I have been in the Cancer Center since November and am soon to be hired as a permanent MOA there!! VERY exciting for me!!! :) <br />In early November I began seeing a pretty phenomenal guy. His name is Matt. Pretty much the most NORMAL guy I've ever dated. He and I went to high school together. He graduated a year after I did. We hung out a few years later, after we both graduated. Things didn't really work out between us at the time. Years later, he found me on Facebook. I found out he had moved to Indiana and now had a little girl! I soon came to find out that he was moving back to PA, and was looking for people to hang out with. It was supposed to be completely innocent, hanging out, having fun with an old friend but soon turned into something completely unexpected! We fell completely head over heels for each other even after all these years. From the first night we went to the movies, we were inseparable. I met his daughter after a few weeks and fell completely in love with her. Her name is Hannah and she'll be 2 soon! She's the most fun-loving, adorable, energetic little girl you'd ever want to meet. Life is definitely funny sometimes. I would have NEVER thought I'd be in this position, with him, after all these years. He's everything I have EVER wanted in a partner and I definitely feel blessed to have him come back in to my life. :) I'll stop now before you vomit all over your computer. ;)<br />Backing up a bit, I moved in with 2 of my very close friends (or so I thought) into a 3 bedroom house in Palmyra in September. The house is ADORABLE. So the 3 musketeers moved in together, only to find out that our 3rd musketeer was completely inconsiderate and too immature to be living on her own anymore. She decided to give us and the landlord 2 weeks notice that she would be moving out, and moving back home to Archbald, PA where she grew up. She had apparently been offered a new position up there at some local hospital and was moving back in with her parents. So now it's Torey and I. We REALLY couldn't be happier now that she's gone. Kelly was more of a burden than anything. It was her idea for us to move in together in the first place and not even 3 months later decides to pack up and leave. So she royally screwed us over in the money department. But, I know that Torey and I can do it on our own. We're both looking in to getting a part time job, to pick up the excess. So we'll see what happens!!<br />Christmas was phenomenal! I had a great Christmas, minus some family drama. It sucks when your father gives your roommate a warmer welcome than you on Christmas afternoon! Apparently I was at fault though in some fashion bc I was told to be there by 3pm, and I did just that. It was 2:50pm when we walked through the door. But whatever! :) Matt bought me a VERY pretty white gold necklace, with pink sapphires in it. I received AWESOME house stuff from my parents and lots of money as well. Good times!!<br />New Years Eve was spent at my brother, Dan's house. Matt and I went over to enjoy wings and Wii! I seriously need to look in to getting one of those... lol We had a blast! We didn't even see the ball drop, but that was ok!<br />New Year's Day was spent at my parent's house with Matt. Pork and sauerkraut were served, to follow tradition. And I think most of the family ended up passed out in random locations following dinner! I'm pretty sure blackmail pictures were taken...but I haven't seen them. lol<br />Currently, I'm in California. Sitting in my aunt's living room, listening to 27 Dresses, and enjoying the smell of bacon spattering on the stove. My mom and I have been here since last Wednesday and we leave in 2 days. We came out here for my cousin, Stephanie's wedding. Which included a very Mormon Bachelorette party. My cousins and I got her a Bride to Be tiara to wear, a Bride to Be ribbon, a gigantic engagement ring balloon to carry around, and a flashing heart necklace! We picked up ourselves some very attractive devil horns to wear for the evening. We took an afternoon trip to the movies and saw Bride Wars. Awesome movie, and definitely would recommend EVERYONE to go see it. It definitely made me weep a little. :) After that, it was off to dinner with my aunt, my mom, and grandmother. We went to a local DELICIOUS mexican restaurant called Las Fuentas. YUM. The next day she was married in the San Diego Temple to a phenomenal guy. You could definitely feel the spirit as they came out of the temple on to the balcony to greet all the family and friends that had made the 2 hour journey down there. I had to keep myself from bawling when I saw them. I'm so happy that she found her other half. My mom has been making a lot of comments about MY wedding, and when I get married, as if it's something that is going to come along in the near future. She told me that I should start looking for things that I may want in my wedding. After picking my jaw up off of the floor, I did just that. I honestly HAD thought about doing that before, but was afraid to hear the critism come from her mouth. My cousins and I had to take a trip to the party store before the wedding and I found some rather cute purchases. Including and brown/pink garter, a very pretty hankerchief, and a ring pillow cover...in pink obviously. Along with those, I found my thank you cards at Target. They are completely me AND they were on clearance! Woot Woot!! :) So yes, she kind of created a monster. I look for stuff ALL THE TIME now. :) It'll definitely save me money when the time comes!<br />So....I think that's about it! That's the latest in my life! I hope all enjoyed reading my ramblings and I do apologize for not having pictures posted. As you may, or may not be, aware I was accepted in the Fall MOA training class at HMC. Yaaay!!!! :) What is an MOA you ask? Medical Office Associate. Basically the same exact job I'm doing in the ER now, but in a clinic (Dr's office) setting. I'm so excited to be starting days again. No nights, no weekends, no holidays! I'm all for that! I'll miss a lot of the awesome people I've met in the ER, but hopefully I'll see them again. (And not as a trauma!!)<br />We're finally all moved in to our new house! The cable is FINALLY getting set up tomorrow afternoon. Hooray! Pics are to come, I promise. I just haven't gotten to the parent's house or had internet access except at work to upload pics. Give me a myspace page and I can pimp it out in no time flat!! But this is a little more complicated!! But I figured if the rest of my family can figure it out...I can too!! No offense kids. :oP<br />SO! This is my new blog. To keep you all posted on the comings and goings of my life, just in case you don't talk to my mom! And even if you do, she may not know EVERYTHING.<br /><br />Current event #1- I'm on the move again as most of you know. It's exciting!! I'm headed back to Palmyra with 2 of my bff's from work. We'll be moving in this weekend. I've (with the help of my dad) been moving stuff in since last week. The only things left are some furniture. With the help of my dad and the EVER-helpful Dan the Dent Man, we'll be moving that stuff in on Saturday. Hooray!! The house is adorable and I can't wait to finally be in. 2 bedrooms, 1 1/2 bathrooms, living room, kitchen, dining area..kinda, and a finished attic (which is Kelly's room)! It's seriously the cutest thing in the world. Well besides Addison. What can top that kid?? I'm pretty sure it's NOT possible. ANYWAY. So that's that!<br /><br />Current event #2- New job possibility. I find out on Friday whether or not I'm accepted into the MOA training class for September. What is an MOA you ask? It's basically the same job that I'm doing now in ER but in a clinic setting. (Dr's office) I'm pretty stoked and I REALLY hope I get it. The pay is about the same but it will be day shift. I need to be back on day shift. Night shift is screwing with my body something fierce!!!! I like it bc the pace is a little slower than day shift or even 2nd shift. There is far less drama to deal with. The boss' aren't here. But the hours...oh the hours... Definitely taking a toll on me. So keep your fingers crossed, say a little prayer for me, whatever you feel you can do, it would be well appreciated!!! I'll keep you posted on my status!<br /><br />Current events 3 & 4- New babies!! Oh the new babies! Alyssa and Lisa. Both expecting within the next month or two. Both will have adorable little additions to their fun families. I can't wait to meet both of the munchkins. :) Seriously, I hope I'm half this excited when I have a kid!<br /><br />Current event #5- In case you weren't aware...I bought a car. What happened to the other one, you ask?? I traded it. I've been waiting 5 LONG YEARS for the car of my dreams. No, it's not an Audi TT but one day when I have a sugar daddy I'll get one of those. No, it's not a Porsche. Ok, enough with the suspense. I bought a 2008 Mazda 3. It's FRICKING ADORABLE. Oh my goodness! I never thought I'd love a car as much as I love pizza. And that's A LOT ladies and gentlemen!!! The color is "Stormy Blue". Very pretty. And fast. Like a bunny. BUT!! I'm proud to tell you all that I have YET to go over 70 mph in it. SO THERE!!<br /><br />I think that's about all the current events I have so far. There will be more to come.
